Discover Science, Technology and Innovation like never before!

Our Partnership

The digital age and changes in learning styles, access to technology and in turn careers in technology, the need for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) resources that are relatable, engaging and inspiring for our young people has always been a clear directive for the efforts of Science Alive. With the fast-paced digital teaching changes that were enhanced by the pandemic and lockdowns forcing schools to close – educators were crying out more than ever for robust and accessible learning resources that could be done both in the classroom and via distance learning.

In 2020 Science Alive Charitable Trust and Education Perfect built a game changing partnership that marked a new online era for Science Alive. The objective: to collaborate and leverage the expertise of the Education Perfect team to enable students across New Zealand to delve into the wonders of science, innovation, and technology like never before.

Science Alive Mātauranga

Through collaborative efforts - Science Alive Mātauranga, a free online resource for all schools was born.

Founded in New Zealand, Education Perfect (EP) help teachers to redefine teaching and learning experiences in line with the requirements of the 21st century. The EP platform offers tools for learning, revision, and assessment across all subject areas. A ‘perfect’ partner for this venture, EP was instrumental in the development of some of our most well known resources like Gamechangers: In our Footsteps and Antarctic Adventures in collaboration with the International Antarctic Centre.

With the development of curriculum-aligned content, students have been provided with over 200 lessons that explore scientific concepts, discover key moments in history, engage with industry specialists and role models across science, technology and innovative fields inspiring them to take action on local and global issues and initiatives.

The content focuses on building 21st century skills that will equip students for the jobs of the future. This cross curricular content is not only relevant and engaging, but completely free to all learners across Aotearoa.

Our partnership with Education Perfect has enabled Science Alive to further its charitable mission and purpose, particularly following the closure of our physical centre, by ensuring STEAM education is available to everyone, everywhere, and every day.
